Our Origins

Australia’s exclusive supplier of GreenWave products, ThinkEco was founded in 2009 to address the growing demand on businesses to provide eco-friendly alternatives to plastic and Styrofoam products, and products made from paper resourced from virgin forests.

During their research within the US, the founders of ThinkEco were impressed by the prevalence of GreenWave products at take-away outlets and festivals, which reflected the national psyche’s priority for a cleaner environment.

Yet, they were baffled as to why in a country like Australia—where 82% of the population is concerned about the environment—plastic, Styrofoam and paper packaging were still being widely used.

After researching available products, it quickly became apparent that although a handful of ‘green’ foodservice products already existed on the Australian market, the limited range did not match up to GreenWave’s versatile and extensive collection.

So the founders struck up a deal with GreenWave to be their exclusive supplier in Australia—hence the birth of ThinkEco, the green way forward for Australia’s foodservice industry.
